Fallin' for October

In October I was cliche.  I did all the cliche activities of fall and Halloween, took all the cliche pictures. BUT I love all the cliches so I embraced fall in its fullest.

I even started Fall this year with a FALL DAY.  For anyone who doesn't know what that is, it's a full day dedicated to fall activities and fall food.  It's a tradition I'm starting.  For fall day, Michaela, Tyler, Ashlyn, Cheyenne and I had a nice fall breakfast.  We ate pumpkin muffins, pumpkin french toast and chocolate milk. Then, Tyler, Anna, Michaela and I took a fall drive up the mountains through the trees of changing colors, and took nice fall pictures.

Anna, Michaela, and I on Fall Day!

Every October is also General Conference. My sister's and I were able to go to a session.  It was beautiful and the spirit was strong.

Ever since school started I've been on a crazy internship hunt for a Supply Chain internship for this upcoming Summer. BYU's supply chain program shoots for 100% placement every year and they are really interested in you getting a good internship.  BYU really does hook you up.  As part of my internship hunt I've been going to different info sessions for big companies that come and recruit from BYU, sending in tons of resumes (a resume that I spent hours perfecting), and participating in interviews.  I had the opportunity to be flown out for a second interview with Koch industries.  They paid for my flight, rental car, a nice hotel, all my meals, and gave me a visa gift card with extra cash on it just in case I had to pay for anything else in my travels. In the airport I met Allison, another girl from BYU who was going to interview with Koch as well.  We hung out for the two days we were in Kansas and went to target, watched tv at the hotel, went to the koch dinner the night before, and sat by each other on the flights back,  I was glad I met her on the way there, it made the trip so fun!  A few weeks after this trip I received a call from Koch offering me an internship for a Supply Chain Analyst position this summer in Minneapolis!  I am so grateful and excited for this opportunity.  I am so blessed by the Lord and can't express enough gratitude for all he has given me.

Complimentary Koch mug with chocolates at the Hotel.

"We are Koch" sign at the airport.

And most exciting of all, I officially started my business Krave Supply.  I am bringing back the fanny pack so it fits today's style.  I haven't started selling them yet but I received the samples so I can start advertising.  It's been my dream for so long to start my own business. I am so excited about it all.

The pac is most definitely back.

My good friends helping me model the Krave pacs.

To end October my friends, and I celebrated Halloween. Loving Taylor Swift and all, we dressed up as the cast from her music video Bad Blood.  I think we nailed the costumes.

September Fun

September is filled with the best kind of holidays, birthdays! My birthday, Ashlyn's birthday, and even my best friend Lexee's birthday are all in September. This September was a good one. I always feel so loved and grateful for everyone in my life on my birthday. Friends and family make a special effort to show how much they care about you and what you mean to them.  I always feel so spoiled for the quality friends and family I have in my life. This year my birthday was on Labor day so we didn't have school. A group of my friends and I went to breakfast (my favorite meal) at Magleby's (my favorite breakfast place). And in the evening more friends and family came over for cake and games. My birthday was simple, but very sweet.

Ashlyn's birthday was the week after mine. I through her a secret Bachelor themed party.  Michaela, Cheyenne, and I found 10 random guys on campus to participate. We had the guys show up to Nolan's house before Ashlyn go there and hide in the basement. Once Ashlyn got there, they started coming out one by one and introducing themselves. we then preceded to have multiple rounds for Ashlyn to get to know them and ultimately eliminate them one by one until there was only one buy left.  The whole thing was a blast and filled with a lot of laughter. I definitely recommend throwing this party for any single girl or guy ;). You can watch the Ash's Bachelorette Bash HERE

I also started school again in September. I'm in the junior core of the Global Supply Chain Program.  It is seriously the perfect major for me, and I absolutely love it. I am so grateful that God led me to where I am today in slow incremental ways. Looking back, I can see his hand in my life and how one thing led to another. I have realized that is often how God works. He seldom shows us the big picture or his grand plan for us all at once. But instead, he gives us just enough sight to move forward a little at a time. And then when you take a second to stop and look back, you can see the his big picture and it is beautiful.

Shout out to Magleby's for giving me the best birthday breakfast.

September means the start of FOOTBALL season.

Fan picture with Kevin Worthin, BYU's President, what a stud.

The Bad Butt Billats in the entirety.  I love being a college with these sibs of mine.

Bridge jumping is Lehi.  One of the guys we went with got a rock stuck in his foot and we had to take him to the ER.  Every late night bridge jump has to come with a casualty.

A trip to Midway. Always so peaceful, always my favorite.

My Summer Summary

I haven't blogged in months but late is better than never, right? It's nearly winter but I want to first recap my summer. This summer was interesting to say the least.  I did a lot of summery activities, trips, and made a lot of Summer memories I hope never to forget.  So I'm going to do what I do when I haven't blogged in a long time, give the quick gist and run down of everything.

First, the trips.  Summer is not summer without summer trips. The first trip of the summer was a road trip to California with my close friends Chad and Lucas, and my sister friends Ashlyn and Michaela. Chad served his mission in Long Beach so we stayed at a member's apartment there.  She was this sweet little Cambodian women who spoke little English and made the best food. There were other friends visiting the same weekend so there was a total of 10 people crammed into her 2 bedroom apartment.  But that's what trips are like when you're in college- as cheap as possible. What could be cheaper than a free place to stay?  While in California we went to Huntington Beach, ate great food, and lived the California life-style for the weekend.

The second trip: I went with Chad and Andrew on a local weekend getaway.  We went backpacking up Little Cottonwood Canyon up in Salt Lake.  The hike to our destination was SO HARD.  Straight up the mountain for miles with a 40 pound backpack.  I thought I was in shape, but I had to take so many breaks.  Our destination was a small valley up high in the mountains surrounded by mountain walls, green grass, a flowing river and a breathtaking view.  The best kind of hotel room.  After our night in the mountains, we headed to Park City.  After living in Utah for the past 2 1/2 years I thought I better check out the coveted Park City.  We stayed in a hotel on the base of the slopes, ate to-die-for food, walked down the cute main street, and took a ride in the Alpine Coaster.  Sometimes local "vacations" are just what you need.  See the trip HERE.

The third trip: My friend Trevor invited me to a ranch in Colorado with him and his 12 other friends. One of the girl's grandparents owned the ranch.  The ranch included: 10,000 acres, a lake, wild life, a fully equipped cabin with wifi and cell phone service, tipis, and fun toys.  The best way for me to describe everyone on the trip is newlyweds.  Everyone was married except for me, Trevor, and one other girl and guy.  Everyone was so nice and so fun to hang out with for the four days we were there.  While ranching in Colorado we rode four wheelers, played many many games, swam in the lake, canoed, and explored the endless anchorage. It was a blast, I was genuinely sad coming back.

Beyond the trips, this summer has been filled with sand volleyball, dollar theater movies, new friendships, starry nights, and fun adventures. Anna's birthday was in the middle of summer so we through her a fun party which you can watch HERE. I also made a video of some of the last summer days, you can watch it HERE.  And Here are the random pictures I have accumulated on my phone over the four summery months:
